Oh, So it's down to this now is it. I've been driving for years, sometimes it feels like centuries. The reason I mention it is that it's really shaped or influenced my feelings about the " Drinking Holidays " - Amateur Night, as they say. Anyhow, there used to be an innocence to Halloween, a sense of civic cohesiveness that has well, gone down the drain like dark red piss. Anyhow, Another reason I mention it is is that it's the night I picked you up ( Got Picked up ) at that desolate fork in the road Robert Johnston used to hang out at. Haven't heard from them in years. Anyhow, Plastic Bats & Scardy Cats. The thing is, we drove down this road many times before and there's a hairpin turn, a puff of light before the diner light flickers open. Lots of people said I was a hero for missing the school bus that day. Look at how full the ash tray. Anyhow yeah I get confused. The thing is, The whole cab of the truck flooded with light. there was the crack of wood & lightning ( Like I say, I get confused ) and undeniable sulfuric & electrical smoke billowing through the full moon sky. They said I died a thousand deaths, they say my truck is like the Flying Dutchman. I Say what the Fuk Man. I'm still here. I'm made of dust & time & you can see right through me, but I'm still here.
